What You Need

- Please note the new travel regulations for the United States, ESTA and VWP -

KAYAKING CHECKLIST
(all kayaking and camp gear will be provided)s
 
SEA KAYAK:
Paddle (plus one take-apart paddle for every party of two)
Paddle - leash
Spray-Deck/skirt
One appropriately sized PFD (Lifejacket) per person
Paddle-Float (self-rescue)
Pump or bailer
Whistle (on PFD)
Sponge
Mooring line for securing kayak to shore
 
CAMP:
Tent (freestanding, with rain-fly, plenty of stakes and tie-down lines
Sleeping pad (Thermarest)
Sleeping Bag (appropriate rating for spring and summer to avoid bulk)
 
CLOTHING:
All clothing should be synthetic (Polypro, Capilene etc., since this material does not hold moisture and dries very fast)
Paddling Jacket with hood (breathable ore Gore Tex is very comfortable)
Raingear: Jacket and Pants (Jacket could be used as Paddling Jacket if breathable)
Fleece-Jacket (for warmth around camp)
Fleece-Vest (additional warm layer)
Two pair of long hiking pants (one pair in Emergency Dry Bag)
Two pair of long underwear (one pair in Emergency Dry Bag)
Two pair of briefs and t-shirt (one pair in Emergency Dry Bag)
Two sweatshirts (with hood if available)
One light long sleeve fast dry shirt
Four pair of socks
Toque and hat (for cold and sun/rain protection)
One pair of fleece gloves
One pair of cycling gloves (great blister prevention)
Sandals or light camp shoes
 
COLD WATER PROTECTION:
Wetsuit or Dry-Suit
Neoprene booties
Neoprene socks
CHOTA mukluks (best waterproof Neoprene boots available)
Neoprene gloves (if cold hands are a problem)
 
MISCELLANEOUS:
Small shaving / toilet kit
Sunglasses with cord
Insect repellent
Water bottle
Head-Lamp (plus spare batteries)
Dry Bags (15 litre size for easy storage in narrow kayak hulls, except one 20 litre dry bag for sleeping bag
Zippered Duffel Bag (very light - for hauling gear up to camp)
Fishing Gear ???  (the bare minimum of lures, with a hand-line or telescopic rod
"SWISS ARMY KNIFE" or "LEATHERMAN" multi purpose knife
BINOCULARS !!!
 
We provide single kayaks for each participant. We also provide expedition quality tents, in excellent condition. Two people may share a large "3-person" tent, or we provide a "2-person" tent as a private one-person-shelter.
